Razorshell for the short movie "Coquille" - Photoscan

This 3D model of a razorshell, created for the film "Coquille," is a blend of nature-inspired realism and artistic interpretation so it fited our artistic direction.
To capture the intricate organic details, I used a combination of photogrammetry and digital sculpting.
Starting with a photoscan of a real shell, I refined the model in ZBrush to enhance its natural imperfections and shape.
Texturing was done in Substance Painter, where I focused on replicating the shell’s surface.
Final rendering and integration were achieved in Maya using Renderman Renderer to bring out the detailed textures and shading.

highpoly rendering finished

The project kicked off with a photogrammetry setup, which involved capturing detailed images of the actual shell from different angles. I used agisoft to process the images into a high-resolution 3D model.
